Blake Robles enters his first season as a senior analyst for the Pitt football program.
Prior to his arrival at Pitt, Robles spent the last seven seasons at Shorter University in Georgia. Robles started as a graduate assistant and was promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks’ coach starting in 2021.
Shorter’s offense rushed for the most yards (2,189) and touchdowns (23) since 2014 during their 2023 season under the direction of Robles. The offense helped produce two First Team All-Conference performers for the first time since 2014 as well. Their freshman quarterback set a school record for completion percentage in a season (63.42%) and finished first in the conference for total yards by freshman.
The Hawks had their best statistical season under Robles in 2022, producing 4,113 total yards and 37 touchdowns. They ranked first in all of Division-II football for turnovers with just five over their 733 plays from scrimmage. They ranked 22nd in the country in passing touchdowns (24) while also setting the school record for their TD-INT ratio (24-3). His offense was top 40 in the country in efficiency and yards-per-completion. Robles’ tight end earned All-America honors for the second-consecutive year under his direction.
In 2021, Robles assumed the role offensive coordinator at Shorter. The Hawks’ set the school record for most passing touchdowns in a season while their tight end became the school’s first All-American since 2017.
Prior to Shorter, he spent two years at local Clarion University where he worked with their quarterbacks and running backs. In 2016, Robles’ quarterbacks threw for 26 touchdowns and 2,901 yards while he saw his starter set the school’s record for passing touchdowns in a career with 67.
From August 2015 to July 2016, Robles worked for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Community Outreach Team where he trained local quarterbacks at camps run by the organization.
As player, Robles started two years at Eureka College in Illinois where he was an All-American and All-Conference selection in 2013. He threw for 4,779 yards, 40 touchdowns and 64.6 completion percentage over his two-year career. In 2013 he broke the school record for completions in a season (215). Prior to that, he played at Ottawa University in Kansas and Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania.
