Green also assisted with strength and conditioning initiatives, fundraising efforts and the development of multiple All-Conference performers.
Prior to Belle Vernon, Green was the co-defensive coordinator and assistant football coach at Serra Catholic High School. In that role, he helped coordinate defensive game plans, mentor student-athletes, assist with recruiting efforts and support the program’s day-to-day administration.
A former Pitt defensive lineman and team captain, Green enjoyed a six-year playing career with the Panthers from 2018-23, appearing in 60 games and making 20 starts. Green was a key contributor on Pitt’s 2021 ACC Championship team and helped the Panthers earn four bowl appearances.
As a senior in 2023, Green started seven games at defensive tackle and was selected as a team captain. He was nominated for the prestigious Wuerffel Trophy, which recognizes exemplary leadership, community service and academic achievement, and received Pitt’s David Sandberg Champion Award. The honor is presented annually to the senior student-athlete who best exemplifies dedication to academic and athletic excellence while demonstrating an unyielding commitment to the University of Pittsburgh and its surrounding communities.
A Pittsburgh native, Green starred at Central Catholic High School, helping lead the Vikings to two WPIAL championships and a PIAA state title. He earned Pennsylvania Football Writers All-Class 6A honors and was recognized on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s “Fabulous 22” and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s “Terrific 25.”
Green earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2022 and later completed a second bachelor’s degree in law, criminal justice and society through Pitt’s College of General Studies in 2023.
