Mitch Robinson enters his fourth year as an assistant director of broadcast and video production for Pitt football.
Robinson arrived in Pittsburgh following his 2022 graduation from Mercer University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in media studies and Spanish. He was a four-year creative media intern for Mercer Athletics working in social content and was also instrumental in the live production of ESPN+ events.
Robinson’s additional experience includes three seasons in baseball. He was a video production intern in 2021 for the Erie SeaWolves, a Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. He also spent two seasons (2019-20) with Macon Bacon, a collegiate summer team that competes in the Coastal Plain League.
Beyond the Bio
Favorite sports moment at Pitt:
The 2022 Backyard Brawl at Acrisure Stadium. It was my first game as an employee, and my ears are still ringing from the roar of that crowd. However, the 2022 men’s basketball win over Miami and the 2023 volleyball regular season win over Louisville are strong contenders as well.
Favorite thing to do in the city of Pittsburgh:
It’s a tie between two things: ride the incline up Mt. Washington, and watch a Pirates game from the upper deck on the 3rd base side. Both of them are some of the best ways to get a breathtaking view of this beautiful city.
What I love most about working in college athletics:
The history, pageantry, and passion of college sports teams and their fans are absolutely unmatched. I have been a fan of all college sports for as long as I can remember. I love living in that world and attempting to tell the stories that come out of it.
