2011 Scouting Report: Versatile and intelligent player who could contribute at either the Sam or Will linebacker positions this year...owns starting experience at both spots...is a past honoree on the Big East All-Academic Football Team.
2010: Played in all 13 games, starting eight...made seven starts at Will linebacker and one start at Sam linebacker...collected 40 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and one fumble recovery...twice recorded a career-high six tackles, including the Rutgers and New Hampshire contests...had four tackles and two TFLs at Syracuse.
2009: Did not play in any games after suffering a training camp shoulder injury (left) that ultimately necessitated surgery.
2008: Played in all 13 games, primarily serving in special teams capacities...had seven tackles on the year...had a season-high two tackles in the Rutgers and Connecticut games.

Personal: Tristan Pierce Roberts, born 11/18/88, is the son of Richard and Lori Roberts...has one brother and one sister...Roberts[apos] father, Richard, is a first cousin of former Pitt defensive backs Tim Lewis (1979-82) and Louis Riddick (1987-90)...Lewis is a 1982 Pitt All-American and longtime NFL assistant, currently serving as secondary coach with the Atlanta Falcons...Riddick spent eight years as a player in the NFL...Tristan has an extensive football family tree that also includes cousins in Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive tackle Alan Page (who played at Notre Dame before starring with the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears) and defensive back Aaron Beasley (a West Virginia product who played with the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons)...other cousins include Robb Riddick (Buffalo Bills) and Will Lewis (Seattle Seahawks), who both starred at Millersville University before playing in the NFL... chemical and petroleum engineering major.
