PLAYER BIO
Jamarius Burton joined the Pitt Basketball staff during the summer of 2025 after finishing his playing career for the Panthers in 2022-23. He began his time as a graduate manager and was elevated to a player development specialist in the summer of 2026.
In his role with the Panthers, Burton assists the coaching staff with practice planning, scout team preparation, skills work, and overall player development.
Burton started in 60-of-64 games in two seasons with the Panthers, averaging 13.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. During his senior season in 2023, he led the Panthers to a 24-12 record overall and was instrumental in getting the team back to the NCAA Tournament. Burton posted an outstanding final season at Pitt averaging 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game, becoming just the second Panther to earn First Team All-ACC honors and being named Second Team NABC All-District 2.
Burton began his collegiate career at Texas Tech end his career with 1,521 points, 540 rebounds and 476 assists. Burton played one season overseas with the House of Talents Kortrijk Spurs of the Belgium Pro Basketball League.
