Michael Becker was named the director of operations of the University of Pittsburgh volleyball program in April of 2016.

- Helped lead Pitt back to the NCAA Tournament, marking the programs first back-to-back appearance since 2003-2004, where they defeated VCU in the opening round
- Assisted the Panthers to a 26-7 record – the team’s fourth-straight 20-win season
- Controlled the day-to-day operations for the volleyball team, including serving as a liaison to athletic department officials
- Joined the Pitt volleyball staff as the director of volleyball operations in April of 2016
- Helped lead the Panthers to their first NCAA tournament appearance in 12 years
- Assisted Pitt towards their third season in a row with 20 or more wins
- Controlled the day-to-day operations for the volleyball team, including serving as a liaison to athletic department officials
- Headed the Pacific Coast Volleyball Club 18U team, creating practice plans and game strategies along with teaching fundamental skills
- Facilitated the signing of multiple players to surrounding area colleges
- Assisted with management of the Pacific Athletic Foundation (PAF), leading volunteer engagement for Athletic fund drives and enhancing donor relations
- Managed annual and campaign business plans and activities to achieve annual giving fundraising goals
- Assisted with the integration of volunteer fundraising councils and related organizations for the various Athletics programs
- Collaborated with colleagues to address challenges in the implementation, coordination and management of NCAA athletics
- Conducted prospect visits and worked closely with volunteers to successfully improve the PAF Fund Drive
- Organized all PAF fundraising events and assisted in premium seating opportunities
- Led the Delta Valley Volleyball Club 18U team to a Gold Division finish in northern California
- Set lineups and aided players in committing to colleges along the west coast
- Played for Division III Springfield College from 2009-2013
- Won three Division III NCAA Championships with Springfield College in 2010, 2012 and 2013 while concluding 2011 as the National Runner-Up
- Voted as the team MVP during the 2013 NCAA Championship
- Played under highly decorated USA and NCAA volleyball coach, Charlie Sullivan
- Earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management from Springfield College in 2013 and a Master of Science in athletic administration from University of the Pacific in 2016
- A native of Lancaster, Pa., Becker now resides in Pittsburgh

- Advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament during the 2016 season
- What do you love most about the University of Pittsburgh?
- I love seeing how much the students truly enjoy their time at Pitt and how much they love their city.
- What is your favorite aspect of working in Pitt’s athletic department?
- I really enjoy the company and friendship of the people I work with and the quality of the student-athletes I work for.

- I enjoying spending any free time I have outdoors hiking, fishing, hunting, disc golf and beach volleyball.
