Maizee Zaccone joined the University of Pittsburgh in April 2025 as a writing specialist for the Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes unit.
Before Zaccone began her role at the University, she worked as an Adjunct English Professor for Butler County Community College from 2022-25. In addition, she served as the College’s faculty editor for their literary magazine.
Zaccone earned her Master of Arts in English in 2024 from Slippery Rock University, where she also earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature in 2018. During her time as an undergraduate, Zaccone worked as a Student News Writer for the University’s Communication and Public Affairs Department.
Prior to her entry into Slippery Rock University, Zaccone graduated from Butler County Community College with an Associate of Arts in English in 2016. At the College, she worked as an Academic Tutor, serving her peers in areas including English language, literature, research, and writing. She also acted as the Pennsylvania captain of the All-American Phi Theta Kappa team, representing Butler County Community College as an All-American Scholar in Harrsiburg and Chicago.
In her spare time, Zaccone loves taking her daughter out for dessert; practicing yoga and weightlifting; and watching “The Great British Bake Off” with her partner.
