Rex Peery

Rex served as Pitt's head wrestling coach from 1949-65, compiling a 116-43-3 record. His winning percentage (.725) is the highest in Pitt wrestling history. He led the Panthers to NCAA runner-up finishes in 1954, 1955 and 1957. Pitt placed among the NCAA's Top 10 in 12 consecutive years under his watch (1952-63). Beyond Pitt, he also served as head coach of the United States freestyle wrestling team in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
