Pitt Welcomes Wake Forest for Weekend Series

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt Panthers (20-7, 5-4 ACC) host the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest (21-9, 6-6 ACC) this weekend at Charles L. Cost Field for the first time since 2023.
Pitt scored the second-most runs in program history on Tuesday afternoon with their 27-run output against Mercyhurst. Their 24-run margin of victory in their 27-3 win was also the second-highest mark in program history.
Top of the Order
• SS Caden Dulin was named ACC Co-Player of the Week for his performance this past week. Dulin went 12-for-26 (.462) with three home runs, three doubles, eight RBI, eight runs scored while slugging .923 in Pitt's five games. He went 4-for-6 with two home runs and five RBIs in Pitt's series-clinching win at Louisville on Sunday.
• The Panther offense has slugged 63 home runs so far this season. They have driven in 122 runs via the long ball, hitting six grand slams and fourteen three-run home runs this year.
• The Oakland Lumber Company is open for business and Pitt's offense is one of the best in the country. They lead the country in base on balls (217), rank second in home runs (63), home runs per game (2.33) and OBP (.469), third in SLG (.566) and scoring (10.7) and sixth in batting average (.333).
• Pitt leads the entire country in walks this season with 217 walks. Lorenzo Carrier also leads the country, walking 35 times this year.
• OF Lorenzo Carrier leads the country in walks (35), ranks 2nd the country in RBI (50) and OBP (.598), 3rd in SLG (.967), 12th in home runs (13) and 13th in AVG (.433). He has been named a D1Baseball and Perfect Game Midseason First Team All-American in addition to the Golden Spikes Award and Baseball America Player of the Year Midseason Watch Lists.
• Pitt went 4-1 last week and won their road series at Louisville this past weekend. The Panthers have now won both of their ACC road series this season.
