PITTSBURGH - To better accommodate its season-ticket holders, the University of Pittsburgh has changed the starting time of its Dec. 30 men's basketball game with Providence College at Fitzgerald Field House to 6 p.m., Pittsburgh athletic director Steve Pederson has announced.
The game was originally scheduled for 5 p.m. With the new starting time, the contest will not be televised. As a result, the Feb. 8 Pittsburgh-Seton Hall game has been added as a televised contest (produced by ESPN Regional and shown locally on FOX Sports Pittsburgh).
"We would like to thank FOX Sports Pittsburgh and the Big East Conference for accommodating the university and its fans with this change," Pederson said. "The holiday season is a very busy time and it would have been extremely difficult for our fans to get to Fitzgerald Field House for a 5 p.m., tip-off."
Pittsburgh's next game will be Dec. 22 against Howard University at Fitzgerald Field House. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
