Pittsburgh claimed all but one bout on the day. In the 133-pound class, sophomore Shawn Amistade (Washington, Pa./Trinity) won a 4-1 decision over Duquesne's Erick Glass, increasing his perfect dual record to 9-0. Freshman Mike Germano (Sharpsville, Pa./Sharpsville) claimed 141 pounds with a 5-3 decision over the Dukes' Randy Hobbs and senior 149-pounder Chad Jesko (Dunbar, Pa./Connellsville) majored Pete DeCarli by a score of 10-1.

Pittsburgh's lone loss came when junior Greg DeBolt (Auburn, Wash./Auburn) was forced to default the 184-pound weight class after suffering an injury.
Freshman Dan Stine (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury), currently third in team history for most wins by a freshman, won his 29th match of the season with a 6-2 decision at 197 pounds, while junior heavyweight Matt Mueller (North Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) recorded a team-leading sixth fall of the year over Duquesne's Chad Roland at 4:36.
