
Pittsburgh Races Past Wright State, 69-52

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Jarrett Lockhart scored 23 points and hit four of Pittsburgh's seven 3-pointers to lead the Panthers past Wright State 69-52 in the season opener for both teams Friday.
Ricardo Greer had a career-high 16 rebounds and 13 points for Pittsburgh, which led by as much as 22 points in the first half.
Wright State got 23 points from center Isreal Sheinfeld, 11 of them in a 17-8 run that narrowed the gap to 12 points 12:01 to go. But Lockhart hit a 3-pointer with two minutes remaining to put Pittsburgh up 53-38 and Brandin Knight hit three free throws to end the threat. Marcus May had 16 points for the Raiders.
Pitt starting center Chris Seabrooks fouled out with 6:46 to go with one point. Seabrooks was replacing Derrick Worrell, who would have started but is injured along with forward Isaac Hawkins.
