PITSSBURGH (AP) - Freshman guard Brandin Knight had his best game of the season, scoring 15 points, dishing out eight assists and making four steals as Pittsburgh defeated local rival Robert Morris 92-59 on Wednesday in the teams' first meeting since 1994.
Ricardo Greer added 17 points and 13 rebounds for Pittsburgh (5-1), which hit 10 of 16 3-pointers and shot 63 percent overall for the game. The Colonials (2-3) shot just 40 percent, tying a season low.
Also scoring in double figures were Chris Seabrooks and John Finneman with 13 points each and Jarrett Lockhart with 11. Pittsburgh, depleted because of injuries, also benefited from the return of injured starting forward Derrick Worrell, who hadn't played this season because of a knee injury. He played 15 minutes and scored 10 points.
Pittsburgh opened up a 20-point lead by the half and never looked back. The Panthers had led just 20-17 with 10:50 to go, but then went on a 24-7 run to close the half.
Pittsburgh hit four of its eight first-half 3-point attempts during the run. They also had three steals and forced three turnovers.
Pittsburgh is 19-0 against the Colonials.
