PITTSBURGH (AP) - Ricardo Greer and Julius Page scored 17 points each to lead Pittsburgh to a 77-55 win over Robert Morris College Thursday afternoon.
Pittsburgh (7-3) led 32-26 at the end of the first half despite making only 4 of 12 free throws. But the Panthers broke out in the second half with a 16-0 run that included six points by Greer and a long 3-pointer from Julius Page.
Greer also had 11 assists in the game, and Isaac Hawkins added 15 points for Pittsburgh.
Wesley Fluellen led Robert Morris (1-11) with 18 points.
Page started at point guard for Brandin Knight, who was benched for disciplinary reasons. Knight was late for a Christmas night practice because he was visiting his family's home in New Jersey. It was Page's second straight start.
"I thought Julius had a great game," Pitt coach Ben Howland said. "He's been playing very well for us. He's an outstanding player and as a freshman, to be doing the things that he's doing for us is great. And he got some good work at the point as well, so I'm pleased with the way he's been playing."
Howland said Knight suffered a foot injury during practice Wednesday and would not have been able to play anyway. His status for the final nonconference game against New Orleans Saturday night is unknown, Howland said.
Thursday's game time was changed from 7:30 to 4 p.m. so Pittsburgh fans could leave in time to watch the Panthers football team play Iowa State in the Insight.Com Bowl later Thursday night.
