PITTSBURGH (AP) - Brandin Knight had 16 points and 11 assists as Pittsburgh beat St. Francis, Pa. 77-55 on Wednesday night.
Pittsburgh (7-1) has not lost to St. Francis in 25 meetings and is 17-0 at home against St. Francis (2-4). The Panthers are also 52-0 against Northeast Conference opponents.
The game decided in the first half which Pittsburgh finished with a 38-18 lead. The Panthers upped the margin to 47-18 early in he second half for their biggest lead of the night.
Knight and teammates Julius Page and Jaron Brown, who added 13 and 12 points, respectively, were able to drive to the basket through St. Francis or dish off for easy baskets.
Knight's 11 assists gave him 379 for his career passing Ricardo Greer (373) and Curtis Aiken (378) for sixth on the Panthers all-time list. Dwayne Wallace (436) is in fifth place and Sean Miller is Pitt's all-time assist leader with 744.
Reiner Mougnol led the Red Flash with 16 points. Junior guard Dan Swoger added 14 points.
But Pittsburgh's defense set the game's tempo. St. Francis shot less than 31 percent of the game and was just 8-for-26 from the field in the first half.
