Women's Soccer Squad Falls to Boston College 3-1

BOSTON, Mass. ? Boston College battled back from a 1-0 first half deficit to defeat the Pittsburgh women?s soccer team 3-1 Sunday. The loss drops Pittsburgh to 3-12-0 on the year while Boston College improves to 9-6-1 overall.
Pittsburgh?s Erin Hills gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when she received a pass from Kendall Enmark, maneuvered around the defense and scored on a shot inside the far post. The Panthers took their 1-0 lead into halftime after fending away six first half Boston College shots.
But Boston College stormed back in the second half. The Eagles tied the game just four minutes into the second period when Katie McGregor scored on a free kick off an assist from Sarah Rahko. The Eagles made it 2-1 three minutes later on Lindsey Fairweather?s score off a crossing pass from Kelly Lavery.
Boston College added an insurance goal when Katherine Halloran?s hard shot from the left side found the net. In the second half alone, the Eagles outshot Pittsburgh 17-2.
For the game, Pittsburgh was outshot 23-5. The Panthers pulled Boston College offside 13 times in the contest.
Pittsburgh next plays at Robert Morris on Wednesday, October 16. Game time is 4 p.m.
