Men's Basketball Hosts Norfolk State on Tuesday

PITTSBURGH? The Pittsburgh men?s basketball team puts its nine-game home winning streak on the line Tuesday when it hosts Norfolk State in the brand-new Petersen Events Center. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
Ranked No. 5 in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today national polls, Pittsburgh (3-0) enters the contest after defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff (89-49) on Saturday evening. The Panthers are 3-0 for the fifth consecutive season. Pittsburgh won its first five games in each of the last two seasons. In addition, Pittsburgh has won 20 consecutive against non-conference home opponents.
Norfolk State enters the contest at 1-1 after defeating Missouri-Kansas City (61-60) and losing to Western Illinois (75-74). This will be the second basketball meeting between Pittsburgh and Norfolk State as the Panthers defeated the Spartans 102-78 on Dec. 1, 1999 in Fitzgerald Field House.
Pittsburgh will travel to Penn State on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.
