Georgetown Hands Women's Soccer 6-0 Defeat

WASHINGTON, D.C.--Georgetown handed the Pittsburgh women?s soccer team a 6-0 defeat Friday evening in Washington D.C. The loss drops Pittsburgh to 3-7-0 overall and 0-4-0 in Big East Conference contests and improves Georgetown to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the Big East.
Casey McCann scored the first goal for the Hoyas off a double assist from Karin Ostrander and Nicole DePalma in the 16th minute. The Hoyas went up 2-0 on an unassisted goal from Ostrander and took a 3-0 lead into halftime with a goal from Ky Holsinger-Johnson at the 37:35 mark. Jen Choiniere made it 4-0 with a goal at the 57:00 mark and Holsinger-Johnson scored her second goal of the evening for a 5-0 lead. Lauren Kyler?s score at the 84:00 mark gave the Hoyas their last goal.
Georgetown outshot Pittsburgh 26-8 and had seven corner kicks to the Panthers? one.
Pittsburgh is next in action this Sunday at home against Virginia Tech. Game time is at 1 p.m.
