PITTSBURGH -- After a rough spring break with two losses for the panthers, they come back to go undefeated against St. Bonaventure. Pittsburgh went 7-0 against the Bonnies, to improve their overall season record to 4-8.
Pittsburgh?s Jill Williams and Laura Pegula went 8-1 against Natalie Rumpel and Amanda Pesono to start off the doubles match. Nikki Borza and Hayley Hughes continued in winning style, beating Michelle Kearney and Jasmine Jaysingh 8-3. Jena Fiore and Emily Hughes finished out the doubles matches with an 8-2 win over St. Bonaventure?s Jen Iannon? and Kasey Mutzel.
In singles play, Pittsburgh?s Jill Williams went 6-4 and 6-2 against Natalie Rumpel. Nikki Borza took on Amanda Pesono, and finished the sets at 6-1 and 7-5. Going against Michelle Kearney was Laura Pegula for the panthers, who ended with 6-2 and 6-0. Becky Emmers went 6-1 and 6-1 both matches against Jasmine Jaysingh. Hayley Hughes went 6-1 both matches against Jen Iannone. Jena Fiore finished out the singles play, going 6-0 and 6-1 against St. Bonaventure?s Kasey Mutzel.
Pittsburgh?s final score against St. Bonaventure was 7-0, adding a win to make their season record 4-8.
