Queens, NY ? Pittsburgh was defeated 1-0 by St. John?s in conference play Friday night. The loss is Pittsburgh?s fourth in the Big East making their conference record 1-4-1 and 4-7-1 overall.
The Panthers were out shot 7-4 in the first half. Keeper Jamie Pelusi helped hold the score at 0-0 in the first 45 minutes of play making two big saves. One save came early in the half, while the second save was minutes before half time.
St. John?s game winning goal came three minutes into the second half of play.
Pittsburgh?s midfield and offense had two great opportunities to even the score, but were unable to capitalize. Four minutes later, Cara Senger took a shot and forced St. John?s keeper to make a diving save to keep the Panther?s scoreless.
