Pittsburgh Track and Field Teams Compete in Penn Relays

The Panthers capture three first-place finishes among the competition.
PITTSBURGH?The University of Pittsburgh track and field teams competed this weekend at the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa.
Sophomore Marissa Dudek (Pottstown, Pa./St. Pius X) placed first in the pole vault with 3.92 meters, while freshman teammate Leandra Golden (Hanover, Pa./Hanover) placed fourth with 3.75 meters. Senior Tamara McGill (Franklin Park, NJ/Franklin Township) finished second in the high jump with a jump of 1.73 meters. Senior Elizabeth Bayne (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) finished seventh in the 400-meter hurdles running a time of 58.64. The 4x200 meter relay team of Lamoy Stephens (Westmoreland, Jamaica/Manning?s), Trenace Elliott (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch), Kimberly Lyles (Somerset NJ/Franklin) and Nicole Vann (Newport News, Menchville) placed first among its ECAC competition with a time of 1:35.56.
On the men?s side, freshman Justin Clickett (Union City, Pa./Union City Area) placed first in the shot put with a throw of 16.81 meters. Senior Matt Brousse (Carlisle, Pa./Lock Haven University) placed second in a three-way tie in the pole vault with 4.75 meters. The men?s distance medley relay placed eighth with a time of 10:00.62. Junior Anthony Bonura (Plum, PA/Canisius College) placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 64.65 meters, while senior Mike Kennedy (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) placed eighth with a throw of 64.39 meters.
The Panthers are back in action this weekend when they compete at the Big East Championships in New Brunswick, NJ.
