PITTSBURGH - For the second consecutive season, Pitt will open its Big East portion of the schedule against the Orange of Syracuse, with a 7 p.m. tip-off at the Petersen Events Center on Thursday, Dec. 8.
The Panthers (6-2) defeated Robert Morris, 66-36, on Tuesday, holding their opponents to a total of 50 or lower points for the fifth time in eight games this season.
Syracuse heads into Pittsburgh with a 4-2 overall mark, having won its past two games convincingly. The two schools split the two meetings in 2004-05, with the Panthers winning at Manley Field House and the Orange exacting some revenge at the Petersen Events Center.
