Pittsburgh to Compete at the Big East Indoor Championships

Returning for the women are three individual 2004 champions. Senior Tamara McGill will look to defend her title in the pentathlon. She has beaten her last year championship score of 3,718 points this season with a career high 4,028 points at the Penn State National Open in January. Senior Amanda Walker will look to defend her title in the shot put. She threw for 15.57 meters to capture top honors at the Big East last year but has improved her throw just last weekend with a season best 16.55 meters. Junior Marissa Dudek has also beaten her last year?s championship mark (3.81) in pole vault, marking her season best with 4.01 meters.

The men will be strongly represented as well. Freshman Sam Bair, sophomore Kareem Cousar, sophomore Tim Konoval, and senior co-captain Jeryl Wilborn will compete in the DMR event, striving to beat their impressive 9:44.45 first-place finish at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational Feb. 4. In addition, Wilborn will compete in the 800 meters and Konoval and Bair will both compete in the mile run.
