NO. 22-RANKED PITT WOMEN HEAD TO CARIBBEAN CLASSIC

PITTSBURGH - After a week off for final exams, the No. 22-ranked Pitt women's basketball team (10-0) travels to Cancun, Mexico, to take part in the Caribbean Classic, where they will meet up with East Carolina and Liberty on Dec. 19 and 20. The Panthers then play No. 4 Duke in a neutral-site game in the same location on Dec. 21.
Pitt will meet all three teams for the first time in Cancun. The Panthers have competed one other time in Cancun, a 2001 tournament appearance playing Mississippi State and N.C. State.
For the second week in a row, the Panthers are ranked in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll at No. 22 and earned their first Associated Press ranking in 27 years at No. 22 on Dec. 11.
Pitt will take on East Carolina on Dec. 19 at 4:30 p.m. EST, Liberty on Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. and Duke on Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. The ECU game can also be heard live on www.PittsburghPanthers.com or on the radio at 9 p.m. on tape delay on Fox Sports Radio 970 AM with Greg Linnelli and Mike Clark calling the action.
