PRINCETON, NJ - Junior Warren Barnes earned a NCAA B cut time in the second day of the Big Al Princeton Invitational, as Pitt's men's swimming team finished the second day in fourth place with 277 points.

In the 100 breast, Barnes (Pickering, Ontario/Dunbarton) recorded a NCAA B cut time of 54.55 for second place, while junior Dave Montgomery (Thorton, Pa./Salesianum School) finished fifth at 56.58.

Pitt's 200 medley relay team finished fifth with a time of 1:32.56. The team was made up of senior Jeff Leath (Mechanicsville, Va./New Community), Barnes and freshmen Geoff Morgan (Mountainville, N.Y./Cornwell Central) and Alex Kubicek (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway).

Later, Leath finished second in the 100 back with a time of 49.89.

Junior Chris George (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) placed eighth in the finals of the 400 IM with a time of 4:04.35.

In the 800 free relay the team of sophomore Andrew Kyrejko (West Orange, N.J./The Montclair Kimberly Academy), junior Steve Jackson (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area), George and junior Scott Shearer (Allison Park, Pa./North Allegheny) placed eighth in the finals with a time of 6:54.63 to close out the second day of competition.
