The Women's Soccer team is off to a 5-2-1 start and is hoping to continue their success when they square off against Big East opponent
Q: How does it feel to be a leader to so many new teammates, 13 to be exact?
A: I love being a leader and knowing that my teammates look up to me. Especially for the freshmen, I just try to lead by example and show them what our team is all about.
Q: What do you look forward to most this season?
A: I am looking forward to playing games and seeing our freshmen getting comfortable on the field with the returnees. It's hard to come in and play on a new team but we seem to have united really well so far and I can't wait to start our conference games.
Q: What is your number one goal this season?
A: To have fun and win games. Every year since I have been here our team has been improving and I am really hopeful that we can make a good run in the Big East Tournament with this year's squad.
Q: How do you balance your school work during the soccer season?
A: I actually think it is easier for me to balance my school work during the season because I manage my time better. I don't procrastinate because I will usually only have a certain time-slot available to get things done so I get my work done right away. If needed, we bring our work on away trips as well.
Q: What is your favorite part about traveling with your teammates?
A: I love away trips because I feel that they really bring our team closer. This is where a lot of our team bonding goes on because you are with each other constantly. We also get assigned different roommates for each trip so that helps to get to know each teammate really well. Personally, I feel like our team gets along very well and I believe that is a huge part of a team's success.
Q: What are some of the things you like to do when you aren't practicing or studying?
A: Relax and hang out with my friends, which are mostly my teammates!
Q: What would you consider your favorite sport besides soccer?
A: I love watching college football and basketball. I also love the Philadelphia Eagles! I'm a huge fan!!!
Q: Which opponent do you look forward to the most this season?
A: I get really excited for every Big East game because most are really close and exciting! I love the challenge of all of the games.
Q: How do you prepare before a big game?
A: I just focus on what I know I have to do personally to help my team win the game and I expect that my teammates are doing the same. I'm not superstitious or anything like that. Basically, I just go out and play.
