TWO PANTHERS FINISH IN TOP 10 AT IC4A CHAMPIONSHIPS

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Pitt men's track and field team sent five competitors to the IC4A Championships this weekend. Two competed today, both placing in the top 10 of their events. Tim Konoval was a finalist in the 1,500 meters, and Eric Jones had a solid performance in the triple jump.
Konoval (Parry Sound, Ontario/Central Connecticut State) finished second in the 1,500 meters with a regional-qualifying time of 3:45.00. He is one of two regional qualifiers in this event.
Jones (Pittsburgh, Pa./Gateway) placed sixth in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 14.89 meters. He qualified for the regional meet earlier this season in this event.
The men's team finished 22nd with 14 points. The team will have next weekend off followed by the regional meet the last week in May.
