PITTSBURGH -
The 16th-ranked Pitt women’s basketball team (6-1) will host West Virginia State Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center.
The Panthers are coming off their biggest win in school history with a 29-point victory over No. 8 Maryland on Dec. 7. Pitt has now won six straight games and are winning those contests by over 31 points per game.
Pitt and West Virginia State have never met on the court as the Yellow Jackets enter the weekend with a 5-2 record behind first year head coach Renee Bostic.
Pitt senior Shavonte Zellous (Orlando, Fla./Jones) is the reigning Big East Player of the Week after her 26-point performance against the Terrapins. Zellous has now scored 20-plus points in six of Pitt’s seven games this season.
The game will be streamed live on www.pittsburghpanthers.com free as a part of All-Access with Greg Linnelli and Mike Clark on the call. The broadcast can also be heard locally in Pittsburgh on FOX Sports 970 AM.
