The Pitt women’s basketball team will have numerous exciting promotions during the course of the season including games against conference foes West Virginia, DePaul, USF, Marquette and Cincinnati.
The action on and off the court begins Sunday, Jan. 4 against West Virginia at 2 p.m. with Team Day and Camper Reunion Day. All teams are welcome to the game and are eligible for discounted ticket prices ($3 for adults and $1 for youths/seniors) when wearing your team jersey to the game. Also, everyone wearing an Agnus Berenato Camp t-shirt will receive the same discounted ticket.
Pitt’s Jan. 10 matchup with DePaul will be the Panthers’ annual UPMC Girls and Women in Sports Festival. All Pitt and UPMC faculty and staff and their families receive free admission to the game when they show their Pitt or UPMC ID at the door. The festival begins at 11:30 a.m. with pregame activities to be located on the concourse and in the lobby including face painting, sports stations with Pitt athletes, sports education stations, inflatables and more.
Girl Scout Day will be held Saturday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. against USF. All Girl Scouts and their families are able to purchase a ticket for $1. Registration for the event begins at 10 a.m. with an optional cheer clinic to be held at 11:30 a.m. At the conclusion of the game, Presidential Medal of Freedom awardee and Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts of the USA from 1976-90, Frances Hesselbein, will hold a leadership seminar on the court.
Pack the Petersen will be held on Friday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. as Pitt faces Marquette in a huge Big East showdown. All tickets to the game will be just $1 as Pitt attempts to sell out the Petersen Events Center.
The Panthers and UPMC Healthplan will team up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to raise awareness for breast cancer in Pitt’s Pink the Petersen game to be held Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. against Cincinnati. For every ticket sold, Pitt will donate $1 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. Fans are asked to join the team and staff in wearing pink in support of the efforts.
