Game Notes Following Win at Central Michigan
*With the victory, Pitt stretches its win streak to three games – the longest of the season. The streak matches the longest since last season (Feb.
*The Panthers led wire-to-wire for the fifth time this season and in the third straight contest.
*Pitt nailed 12 three-pointers in the contest, a program-best. The Panthers topped the previous mark of 11, hit on two previous occasions (vs. St. Francis PA-12/30/01 and vs. Maryland o 12/7/08).
The Panthers shot 70.6 percent from three-point range in the game, the best mark since a 75 percent output against DePaul on Feb. 24, 2007 (6-of-8).
* Chelsea Cole racked up her team and BIG EAST best eighth double-double of the season. The senior has tallied double-figure rebounding totals in 10 of 13 games.
*Cole added four blocks, a season-high.
*Senior Taneisha Harrison scored in double-figures for the fifth-straight game, the most in her career she has notched double-figures in consecutive games. In total this season, Harrison has tallied double digit scoring totals in 11 of 13 games.
*Senior Shayla Scott matched her longest streak of double-digit scoring this season, by tallying double-figure in her third-straight game.
Scott went 4-of-4 from three-point range, tying a season-best for the senior in three’s made. She leads the team with 17 three-pointers.
*Senior Jania Sims, who leads the BIG EAST in free throw percentage, went 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. She has made 15-straight free throws dating back to the DePaul contest on Dec. 7.
*Sims had eight assists in the contest, her third game with eight or more dimes. The senior guard has posted four or more assists in eight of the 10 games she has appeared in.
*Freshman Ashlee Anderson scored a career-best 14 points, her first double-figure scoring output ever. The Chicago native also posted career-bests in three-pointers made and attempted.
