PITTSBURGH—Pitt’s men’s and women’s track and field team will travel to one of the most anticipated events of the year in college and high school track and field, as it competes at the Penn Relays, beginning Thursday, April 21, at Penn’s Franklin Field.
The Panthers will compete against close to 258 colleges at the 116th annual Penn Relays. In addition, fans are sure to witness exciting races as three-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt is set to compete for Jamaica in the 400-meter relay.
Last season, the Panthers had a good showing at the Relays, with several women recording top-20 finishes. Among the top finishers was junior Anita James, who placed fourth in the long jump (5.91 meters).
On the men’s side, both Garrett Larkin and Dan Kwiatkowski recorded top-10 finishes in the shot put.
ESPN2 will broadcast some of the races.
