Women's Tennis Travels For ITA Regional Tournament

PITTSBURGH – Three members of the University of Pittsburgh women’s tennis team will travel to Norfolk, Virginia to compete in the ITA Regional Tournament from October 21-25 at Old Dominion University.
Sophomores Jocelyn Lu and Taylor Washington will represent the Panthers in doubles. Lu and Washington have a 1-1 record this season after winning their first round match in the Martha Thorn Invitational over Ikttesh Chahal and Emily Mathis of WVU (8-4).
Lu and junior Gabrielle Catanzariti will see action in singles pairings. Lu holds a 4-3 record in singles action and boasts a 24-11 career mark. As the 2011 team MVP, Lu was the only Panther to clinch 20 wins last season.
Catanzariti is also 4-3 on the year. In the Martha Thorn Invitational, she went 2-1 with wins over Kelsey Becker of OSU (6-2, 7-5) and Ikttesh Chahal of WVU (3-6, 6-2, 11-9). Catanzariti boasts 50 combined career wins.
