
Panthers in Action at Navy This Weekend

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The University of Pittsburgh women’s tennis team returns to fall season action this weekend, Oct. 12-14 at the Navy Blue Gold Invitational in Annapolis, Md. This will be the Panthers’ first appearance in the Blue Gold Invitational.
The Panthers are coming off an impressive performance at the St. Joseph’s Invitational, Sept. 28-30. Of the six titles at the tournament, Pittsburgh claimed three. The Flight 2 doubles title was won by juniors Jocelyn Lu and Taylor Washington. Washington also captured the Flight 2 singles title with a victory over sophomore teammate Amanda Wickman (4-6, 6-3, 11-9). Junior Kimmy Borza claimed the Flight 4 singles championship with a quick win against Camilla Diaz of St. Francis (6-0, 6-0). Junior Karma Parbhu, sophomore Blair Brown, and Lu also came home with consolation draw titles in their respective brackets.
The Blue Gold Invitational will be the Panthers’ final tournament before the ITA Regional Championships held in Blacksburg, Va. next weekend.
