Panthers Turn in Top-10 Performance at IC4A Championships

PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh men’s track and field team turned in a strong performance this weekend at the IC4A Championships in Princeton, N.J., finishing eighth with 31 points.
In the 110-meter hurdles finals, junior Tashaun Hill (14.02) and freshman Joshua Thompson (14.11) finished third and fourth, respectively. Hill finished second in the prelims with a time of 14.03.
Junior Sam Negley finished fifth in the 800-meter run finals, crossing the finish line in 1:52.40 while senior Jerome Lowery finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles finals (51.61).
Senior Antony Hobwana finished eighth in the 200-meter dash finals with a time of 21.72.
The 3,200-meter relay team of Negley and juniors Benjamin Hatch, Wesley Washington and Kevin Hull finished seventh in the finals (7:32.69).
In the field events, senior Folarin Ijelu finished sixth in the triple jump finals with a leap of 15.09 meters.
In the long jump, sophomore Reginald Steele IV finished third with a leap of 7.59 meters.
