Syracuse, N.Y. - The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team (0-6-4, 0-5-2 ACC) tied Syracuse (8-4-1, 2-4-1 ACC), 0-0, this evening at the SU soccer stadium.
Dan Lynd played admirably in front of a solid Cuse offense making 11 saves en route to the tie. The Panthers have now tied back-to-back games and have two points in the ACC standings.
Pitt's best chance came in the 48th minute when Cory Werth sent a shot just wide of the target. Lynd kept the game scoreless following the Werth shot when he made a pair of second half saves in the 84th and 89th minutes.
In the overtime period, Syracuse had a pair of chances but Lynd was equal to the task making a pair of saves in double overtime to keep the match scoreless.
The Panthers will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 15, when they host William and Mary at 7 p.m. at Ambrose Ubranic Field at the Petersen Sports Complex. The match will be streamed live on ESPN3.
