•Pitt advanced in EA Sports Maui Invitational play in the winners bracket on Tuesday, Nov. 25 against either BYU or San Diego State at 10 p.m. ET/5 p.m. Hawaii Time. The contest will be nationally televised on ESPN. Pitt competes in three games over a three-day stretch as part of the EA Sports Maui Invitational from Nov. 24-26.
•Pitt registered a plus-34 rebound margin in the game, outrebounding Chaminade 51-17. The plus-34 rebound margin ranked as the fifth largest rebound margin for a game in school history. The record is a plus-49 margin vs. Rio Grande (68/19) on Nov. 29, 1979.
•Pitt's 27 offensive rebounds ranked tied for the fifth-most in school history. The record is 32 vs. North Florida on Nov. 13, 2010.
•Pitt yielded 50 percent field goal shooting in back-to-back games for the first time since the 2011-12 season. The last time Pitt allowed opponents to shoot 50 percent in two consecutive games was vs. St. John's (.500, 26-52) on Feb. 29, 2012 and at Connecticut (.509, 28-55) on March 3, 2012.
•With his career-high 21 rebounds, Derrick Randall set a new Maui Invitational game record for rebounds, surpassing the previous record of 20 rebounds set by Tennessee's Jeronne Maymon vs. Memphis in 2011. Randall totaled his second career double-double as he finished with 11 points (4-7 FG) in a career-high 30 minutes. In the first half alone, Randall totaled 13 rebounds (eight offensive).
•Michael Young surpassed career-highs for points (27) and rebounds (15) in registering his first career double-double. Young also set new career-highs for field goals made (11), field goal attempts (17), offensive rebounds (10) and minutes played (35). Young, who started his 40th consecutive game at power forward, reached double figure scoring for the third time on the year and eighth time in his career. He already registered a double-double at halftime.
•Michael Young and Derrick Randall each pulled down 10 offensive rebounds. That mark tied for the third most offensive rebounds in school history, ranking behind DeJuan Blair (11 vs. Notre Dame, 1/31/09) and Jerome Lane (11 vs. Syracuse, 2/9/87).
•James Robinson finished with a season-high 17 points. It marked his 18th career double figure scoring game.
•Josh Newkirk dished out a career-high eight assists in 31 minutes of action. He also scored 10 points, his seventh career and second double figure scoring game of the year.
•Freshman Cameron Johnson came off the bench to hit a career-high three 3-pointers. He finished with nine points in the game.
•Pitt improved to 8-3 all-time in games played in Hawaii.
