No. 20 Panthers Capture Lock Haven Classic Title

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pitt wrestling team captured its second tournament title of the season after compiling 94.5 points at the Lock Haven Classic Tournament on Tuesday.
Sophomore Dom Forys (133) and junior Mikey Racciato (141) claimed their second individual titles today as well.
Freshmen LJ Bentley (125) and TeShan Campbell (174) collected second place finishes, while redshirt freshman Jake Gromacki (125) and redshirt seniors Ronnie Garbinsky (157) and Nick Bonaccorssi (197) finished third.
As a team, the Panthers came out on top by just 6.5 points over No. 22 Indiana.
Forys put together dominating performances en route to his title. He started with a win by technical fall, 20-5, in 6:29 over John Edwards of Indiana. Forys then pinned Ian Lupole of Binghamton in an impressive 42 seconds, advancing him to the semifinals where he won in an 8-3 decision over Vince Rodriguez of George Mason. In his final match of the day, Forys came out with a 7-3 victory over Robert Rehm of Lock Haven.
Racciato jumped straight into the quarterfinals thanks to a bye. He pinned DJ Fehlman of Lock Haven in 1:58, moving him on to the semifinals. Racciato followed his pin with a major decision over Cole Weaver of Indiana, 13-3. In an all-Pitt final, Racciato won by injury default over fellow Panther Nick Zanetta.
The Panthers resume action Jan. 9 as they host the annual Pitt Duals at the Fitzgerald Field House.
