Pitt Concludes Season at NC State

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women’s soccer team will conclude the 2016 season Thursday evening, taking to Cary, N.C., for a 7 p.m. tilt with the Wolfpack of NC State.
The contest will be the final match of the 2016 season for the Panthers.

LEADING OFF
- Pitt (2-14-1, 1-8-0 ACC) travels to Cary, N.C., for a 7 p.m. meeting with the Wolfpack of NC State (9-7-1, 3-5-1 ACC)
- The contest will close out the 2016 season for the Panthers
- Pitt is coming off of a 2-0 loss at the hands of Duke on Sunday afternoon as the team celebrated Senior Day at Ambrose Urbanic Field
- Pitt’s last ACC victory came on Oct. 9 when it knocked off Miami 1-0 in double overtime
SCOUTING NC STATE
- Receiving votes in the latest NSCAA Poll, the Wolfpack have struggled lately, currently in the midst of a four-game losing streak
- With a tough stretch of four games against top-20 opponents, NC State has fallen to then ninth-ranked Duke, formerly ninth-ranked Florida State, then eighth-ranked Virginia and most recently then 17th-ranked Clemson
- NC State’s last win came on Oct. 2 when it knocked off Boston College on the road by a score of 1-0
- Tziarra King leads the Wolfpack offense with 15 points, netting seven goals and one assist, while teammates Jackie Stengel (5 G, 1 A), Kia Rankin (4 G, 3 A), and Ricarda Walkling (3 G, 5 A) each boast 11 points
- Keeper Sydney Wootten has earned the decision in each of the Wolfpack’s 17 contests, recording a 1.13 GAA and a .776 save percentage
SERIES WITH NC STATE
- This will be the fifth meeting all-time between the two programs in a series dating back to the 2010 season
- Pitt and NC State are tied at 2-2-0 all-time, as Pitt has earned two-straight victories over its ACC opponent
- NC State claimed a 1-0 decision in the teams’ first ACC meeting, before Pitt knocked off the Wolfpack 3-0 and 2-0 in 2014 and 2015
