PITTSBURGH - The Pitt tennis team (5-1, 1-1 ACC) remains undefeated at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Center after taking down the University at Buffalo (4-1, 0-0 MAC) 6-1 Saturday afternoon.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of Amber Washington and Lolade Ogungbesan continued their winning ways as they dominated Buffalo's Dayana Agasieva and Margarita Kotok, 6-2, to finish their doubles match first. At No. 3 doubles, Callie Frey and Natsumi Okamoto dropped a 6-3 decision to Laura Holterbosch and Christine Haraldson, to tie the doubles wins. However, the duo of Audrey Ann Blakely and Gabriela Rezende outlasted Tanja Stojanovska and Chantal Blanco at No. 3 doubles, 7-5. Blakely/Rezende trailed the majority of the match but won five straight games to lock up the doubles point for Pitt.

At No. 2 singles, Ogungbesan turned in the first victory, 6-1, 6-0.

Blakely carried her doubles momentum into singles as she claimed a 6-1, 7-6(2) win over Stojanovska at No. 1 singles.

Soon after, Washington dominated Sanjana Sudhir at No. 6 singles as she recorded a 6-1, 6-2 win, giving Pitt a 5-0 lead in the dual.

Rezende picked up her 11th win this season after she defeated Laura Holterbosch 6-3, 6-3.

In a long hard-fought battle at No. 5 singles, Clara Lucas fell 4-6, 7-6(5-10) to Mercedes Losada Rubio giving the Bulls their lone singles victory.

Frey was the final Panther to turn in a win on the day as she defeated Kotok 6-3, 7-6(2).

Pitt opens its full slate of ACC action Saturday, Feb. 27 at Virginia Tech. The dual is set to begin at noon in Blacksburg, Va.
