Blakely Wins Doubles Title at ITA Summer Circuit

Blakey at the ITA Summer Circuit
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Senior Audrey Ann Blakely of the Pitt women's tennis team advanced to the semifinal round of the ITA Summer Circuit of Kansas City.
"We love to see our players competing during the summer and finding success," head coach Alex Santos said. "Winning a title is always something very special and hard to accomplish. I am very happy for Audrey Ann."
Blakely played alongside Wichita, Kansas native Grace Ball. The top-seeded duo first collected an 8-4 win, before recording a 9-8 win in the semifinals. Blakely/Ball then outlasted their final opponents 9-7 en route to the doubles title.
In singles action, Blakey dominated in the round of 32 and round of 16, defeating her opponents in straight sets. In the quarterfinals, she battled her way to a 6-0, 7-6(5) victory over her doubles partner. Singles would come to an end for Blakely as she fell 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 to Katherine Cao of the University of Memphis.
