
Panthers Head to Auburn for Regular Season Finale

PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh women's gymnastics team will travel to Auburn, Ala., Saturday evening, facing off with the 20th-ranked Auburn Tigers in the regular season finale.
Action is set to get underway at 8 p.m. ET at Auburn Arena.
THE MEET
The University of Pittsburgh women's gymnastics team will travel to Auburn, Ala., marking the first time the Panthers take on an SEC program since 2013 when Auburn visited the Fitzgerald Field House. Auburn will use their final home meet as senior night, honoring four seniors.
Pitt looks to improve on their last outing at West Virginia where they finished fourth in the quad meet with a score of 194.200. Earlier in the weekend, the Panthers posted a season-high 195.375 during their senior night at the Fitzgerald Field House. The score was good for second, defeating Michigan State and Towson, while falling to West Virginia. Pitt enter the weekend with an RQS of 194.295, 49th in the nation.
SCOUTING AUBURN
The Tigers come into their final meet ranked No. 20 in the nation with an RQS of 196.090. Auburn ranks in the Top 25 in all four events, including 14th on the bars with a 49.145 average. The Tigers look to bounce back from a 197.200-195.400 defeat at Missouri.
Despite being ranked in the top 20, the Tigers have yet to win a match this season. The Tigers schedule has included matches against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 LSU, No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Georgia and No. 9 Oregon State.
SERIES WITH AUBURN
]This will be the eighth all-time meeting between the two programs in a series dating back to the 1988 season. The Tigers hold a 6-1-0 all-time advantage over the Panthers and have won the last three meetings, rattling off wins in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Pitt last win against the SEC powerhouse came in the 2002 season as the Panthers captured a 193.050-192.500 victory.
UP NEXT
Following their matchup with Auburn, Pitt will prepare for the EAGL Championships in Cary, N.C. The conference championships will take place March 18. At the conclusion of the EAGL Championships, the Panthers will head to the NCAA Regionals April 1 and NCAA Nationals April 14-15 in St. Louis, MO.
