The Opening Tip
- Pitt (8-12, 0-7) hosts NC State (13-7, 3-4) Wednesday, Jan. 24 at the Petersen Events Center. The game will be broadcast on the Regional Sports Network (AT&T SportsNet in Pittsburgh) and is scheduled to tipoff at 9 p.m.
- The Panthers have used 14 different starting lineups this season, the most in the NCAA. Freshmen have combined to make 61 starts on the year.

- Pitt has started three or more freshmen in a game 12 times, including nine times in the past 10 contests. Marcus Carr (17) Khameron Davis (12), Shamiel Stevenson (11), Terrell Brown (10), Parker Stewart (9) and Peace Ilegomah (2) have each made starts this season.

Wilson-Frame has struggled from beyond the arc in league play going just 7-of-43 (.163) from three-point range.
- Kene Chukwuka is averaging 5.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game over the past four games. He is 7-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-5 from three-point range, in that span.
- Marcus Carr leads the Panthers in minutes played (573), starts (17) and assists (76). He has scored in double figures 10 times and ranks eighth among ACC freshmen in scoring at 10.2 points per game.
- Parker Stewart is 37-of-86 (.430) from beyond the three-point arc and is averaging 10.1 points per game over the past 15 contests. Stewart has made two or more threes in 10 of the past 15 contests and leads the team with 40 three-point field goals.
- Jared Wilson-Frame has made 17 consecutive free throws and leads the conference in free throw percentage (1.000) in league play. He is shooting 81.1 percent (43-of-53) from the line for the year.
- The Panthers' Canadian tandem of Marcus Carr and Shamiel Stevenson combines to average 19.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. The pair has combined for 18 double-figure scoring games.
- Pitt's freshman class has accounted for 68.1 percent (299-of-439) of the team's scoring over the past eight games. The group has 13 of Pitt's 17 double-figure scoring games in that span.
- The Panthers are shooting 47.5 percent (197-of-415) from the field, 37.1 percent (75-of-202) from three-point range and 72.1 percent (119-of-165) from the foul line in their eight wins. In contrast, Pitt has shot just 39.5 percent (237-of-600) from the field, 30.1 percent (78-of-259) from three-point range and 67.8 percent (145-of-214) from the foul line in its losses.
- The Panthers current seven-game losing streak is their second longest in conference play since joining the ACC. Pitt dropped eight consecutive league games from Jan. 7, 2017-Feb. 4, 2017.
- Pitt has dropped three consecutive games at the Petersen Events Center, one shy of matching the longest home losing streak at the venue. The Panthers dropped four consecutive home games from Dec. 23, 2011-Jan. 25, 2012.
- Pitt ranks fourth in the NCAA in home wins (240) since the start of the 2002-03 season. The Panthers are 240-46 at the Petersen Events Center in that span.
- Ryan Luther will miss for the remainder of the season due to a stress reaction in his right foot. He will apply for a medical hardship and look to return to Pitt next season. Luther averaged 12.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game over the opening 10 games prior to the injury.
