SOUTH BEND, IN – The Pitt men's soccer team (6-5-4, 2-3-3 ACC) fell on the road Friday night to the ACC regular season champion Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 6-0.

With the loss, Pitt secured the No. 8 seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament and will play host to No. 9 Louisville Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Ambrose Urbanic Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED – FIRST HALF

Just over 30 seconds in Joao Souza got behind the Notre Dame backline and ripped a shot from the top of the box that just missed the right corner
The Irish broke through with the first goal of the match in the 10^th minute as Eno Nto converted on a Pitt turnover. He buried the ball into the right corner beating a sprawling Cabral Carter
Pitt had a golden opportunity to tie the match in the 20^th minute as Souza fed Albert Thorsen who crossed a perfect pass to Luis Sahmkow in front of the wide open goal but his right footed shot dribble just wide left of the goal
In the 34^th minute, Carter made a huge diving stop with his right hand to keep the score 1-0 in favor of Pitt
Notre Dame took the 2-0 lead in the 39^th minute as Matthew Roou beat Carter to the lower left corner for his 10^th of the season

HOW IT HAPPENED – SECOND HALF

The Irish made it 3-0 in the 63^rd minute as Nto collected his second of the match as he redirected a long shot
Nto netted his hat trick goal in the 65^th minute as he was left alone in front and beat Carter to the right corner
The fourth goal of the match for the Notre Dame forward came in the 73^rd minute as he extended the Irish lead to 5-0
Wyatt Borso netted his first of the season in the 84^th minute to cap the scoring burst for the Irish in the second half
