PITTSBURGH – Pitt opens ACC play Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Petersen Events Center against Clemson. Opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. with James Westling and Randolph Childress calling the action on the ACC Network.
THE OPENING TIP
- The Panthers are 3-2 under Jeff Capel in conference openers and 5-5 in the ACC opener in their first 10 seasons in the league. Pitt is opening ACC play at the Petersen Events Center for the first time since the 2019-20 season.
- Sunday’s game marks the fourth of five consecutive contests against Power Six conference teams for the Panthers. Pitt concludes the stretch with a road game in the Backyard Brawl at West Virginia (Dec. 6).
- Blake Hinson ranks fifth in the ACC in scoring (19.6 ppg.) and first in three-point field goals (24) for the season. He has scored 16 or more points and made three or more three-pointers in each of the past six contests.
- Ishmael Leggett has grabbed seven or more rebounds in six consecutive contests and leads ACC guards in rebounding. He is averaging 14.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game this season.
- Carlton Carrington, a two-time ACC Rookie of the Week honoree, has scored in double figures six times and is averaging 14.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.9 assists through the first seven games of the season.
PANTHER SPOTLIGHTS
- Carlton Carrington is one of seven players in the NCAA currently averaging at least 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.
- Ishmael Leggett has made 20 consecutive free throw attempts and now ranks sixth in the ACC in free throw percentage (.903 - 28-of-31) on the season.
- Blake Hinson has made at least one three-pointer in 20 consecutive games and in 41 of 43 games as a Panther. He is 121-of-317 (.382) from three-point range at Pitt.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Blake Hinson has started 42 of 43 games at Pitt and scored in double-figures 37 times as a Panther, including all seven games this season. He has topped the 20-point mark in three of the past six contests.
- Ishmael Leggett has started 76 consecutive games with 50 double figure scoring efforts in that stretch. He has scored 10 or more points in 35 of his past 38 games, including all seven games this season. Leggett is averaging 14.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game this season.
- Carlton Carrington leads the ACC in assists (5.9 apg.) while also ranking among the league leaders in three-point field goals (T-8th - 2.43 3PG), free throw percentage (15th - .826), and assist-to-turnover ratio (5th - 3.15:1). He has scored in double figures six times with five or more assists on four occasions.
- Federiko Federiko has grabbed four or more offensive rebounds in five games and ranks second in the ACC in offensive rebounding (3.57 orpg.). He has also blocked two or more shots in six of the first seven games and is tied for third in the ACC in blocks (2.43 bpg.).
- Zack Austin is averaging 8.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 24.5 minutes per game. He has a pair of double figure scoring games, five games with five or more rebounds, and three games with two or more blocks.
- Twins Guillermo Diaz Graham and Jorge Diaz Graham combine to average 12.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 28-of-53 (.528) from the field, including 10-of-27 (.370) from three-point range.
- Blake Hinson is averaging 20.8 points per game, while going 19-of-41 (.463) from three-point range in five games at the Petersen Events Center this season. He has three 20+ point games at home on the season.
- The post tandem of Federiko Federiko and Guillermo Diaz Graham combines to average 13.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks in 39.5 minutes per game.

- Pitt has six players - Ishmael Leggett (7.9 rpg.), Federiko Federiko (6.6 rpg.), Zack Austin (6.1 rpg.), Carlton Carrington (5.6 rpg.), Guillermo Diaz Graham (4.9 rpg.), and Blake Hinson (4.7 rpg.) - averaging at least 4.5 rebounds per game.
- Pitt is averaging 10.0 three-point field goals per game (2nd in the ACC; T-24th in the NCAA) with Blake Hinson and Carlton Carrington combining for 41 of the team’s 70 threes. Clemson enters Sunday’s contest leading the ACC in three-pointers (61), while ranking second in three-point percentage (.415).
- The Panthers lead the ACC and rank 15th in the NCAA in three-point percentage defense (.255). Pitt has held two opponents below 10 percent shooting and four of its seven opponents below 30 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
