
No. 18 Pitt Set for Friday Night Dual at No. 10 Virginia Tech

PITTSBURGH—The 18th-ranked Pitt wrestling team begins a key stretch of the regular season with an ACC road battle against No. 10 Virginia Tech at the Cassell Coliseum. Friday's dual will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, beginning at 7 p.m.
NOTABLES
- Mac Stout paces the Panthers' starting lineup with 19 wins. He has won 16 consecutive matches, dating back to Dec. 13. His two loses this season both came in November against Zac Braunagel (Illinois) and Michael Beard (Lehigh).
- Stout leads the Panthers with a 19-2 record, including a 12-1 record in dual meets and a 4-0 mark against ACC opponents.
- He has recorded a team-high 11 bonus point victories this season, including winning six of his last seven matches by bonus points.
- Dylan Evans and Reece Heller each have 17 wins so far this season.
- Evans earned a ranked win over No. 18 Sonny Santiago (North Carolina) with a takedown with five seconds remaining in the match.
- Evans is the third-highest ranked wrestler at 157 in the ACC, behind Rafael Hipolito (Virginia Tech) and Ed Scott (NC State).
- Heller, ranked at No. 13 in the InterMat rankings, is the highest ranked ACC wrestler at 184. He improved in the rankings after defeating Dylan Fishback at NC State on Feb. 1. Heller enters Friday winning 11 consecutive matches, including going 4-0 in ACC duals.
- Pitt has seven individual wrestlers ranked in the top 30 in the NCAA Coaches' Ranking: Nick Babin (21), Finn Solomon (27), Dylan Evans (20), Luca Augustine (16), Reece Heller (13), Mac Stout (10), and Dayton Pitzer (16).
- Pitt has four wins against Top 25 ranked opponents. The Panthers have faced nine ranked opponents in 14 duals this season.
- The Panthers' five loses this season have all come against opponents ranked in the Top 25, including three of those loses being by three points or fewer - #5 Ohio State (L, 20-17), #14 South Dakota State (L, 18-15), #18 North Carolina (17-16).
