
Ten Panthers Ready for NCAA Women’s Championships

PITTSBURGH - Ten Panther women will compete in this year's NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way, WA.
The championships will be held Wednesday through Saturday, March 19-22, at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.
Coming off of a strong showing at the ACC Championships, the Panthers are poised to make their mark again. The program set 26 school records that week while the women had their highest team finish since 2015, placing eighth overall.
Sophie Yendell's school record time of 21.30 in the 50 Free at ACC's is the sixth-fastest time in the country and the 17th-fastest performer of all time. She set three school records at the ACC Championships a month ago.
Sydney Gring, Claire Jansen and Kimmy Shannon all set school records at the 2025 ACC Championships in Greensboro, NC. Gring set the 200 IM (1:56.45) school record as well as three relay records as well. Jansen set the 50 Back (24.23), 100 Back (51.40) and 200 Back (1:53.38) records in addition to all four relay records that were broken that week. Shannon set the 400 IM (4:08.47) record on the third day in Greensboro.
Mary Clarke, Avery Kudlac, Jess Strong, Anna Wiechertjes will all compete as part of Pitt's relay teams at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center this week. It is all of their first times competing at NCAA's.
Divers Jess Vegas and Mariana Osorio Mendoza each punched their ticket to NCAA's on platform by finishing in the top five on the final day of Zones. Osorio Mendoza placed third, the highest of her career at Zones, and scored a 536.20. Vega finished with a total of 492.75 and placed fifth on the women's platform.
