Pitt Duels with Duke in Durham

PITTSBURGH – The Panthers will travel to Jack Coombs Field in Durham, NC this week for an ACC series against the Duke Blue Devils.
Because of the Easter holiday this weekend, Pitt's series at Duke will be Thursday-Saturday instead of the traditional Friday-Sunday.
The last time Pitt and Duke met, the Panthers erased a five-run deficit in the seventh and eighth innings to win the series finale last season. Luke Cantwell, Ryan Zuckerman and Jake Kendro all hit home runs in that game.
Notes
• This season, Pitt has six comeback victories when trailing in the fifth inning or later. The Panthers came back in the eighth inning to win game one of their doubleheader at Boston College two weeks ago.
• First baseman Luke Cantwell has recorded a hit in 21 out of Pitt's last 25 games. There have been just six games this season where he has been held hitless. Cantwell is hitting .383 with 49 hits, 27 RBI, 16 doubles and a triple this year. He is 13th in the country in doubles.
• LHP Ryan Reed was named last week's ACC Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Miami in game two of their doubleheader. He threw seven shutout innings and allowed just four base runners while he struck out five.
• Sophomore third baseman Ryan Zuckerman had five hits in their series at Virginia last weekend. Zuckerman is hitting .331 and leading the team in home runs (9), RBIs (35) runs scored (31) and slugging percentage (.619). He is second in hits (46) and doubles (12).
• LHP Ethan Firoved earned his sixth save of the year game one of Pitt's doubleheader at Boston College. In fifteen appearances this year, Firoved has a 3.44 ERA with one win and 45 strikeouts.
• Luke Cantwell has reached base safely in 25-straight games while Caden Dulin has a streak of his own, reaching in each of the last 17 games.
• Four of Jackson Cooke's seven hits this season have been home runs. He has three pinch-hit hits this year, all have been RBI extra-base hits (2 HR, 2B).
• The Panthers' offense ranks fifth in the ACC in hit by pitches and eighth in walks.
