Pitt Distance Travels to Princeton for Larry Ellis Invitational

PITTSBURGH – Ten members of the Pitt Track and Field team will compete in Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational Friday evening. In the final weekend of competition before ACC Championships, three women and seven men will strive for ACC standard times at Weaver Stadium.
The distance group has been off of the track since the weekend of April 17-19, where they were split between the Wake Forest Invitational and the Virginia Challenge. At Wake Forest, Finn Walsh and Luke Simpson ran well in the men's 1500-meter race with respective times of 3:43.92 and 3:44.11. Luke Miller, Thomas McMahon and Quintin Gatons competed in the men's 5K, finishing 22nd, 29th and 49th.
In Charlottesville, Ellen Baker shined for the Panthers in the women's 5K. Baker ran a sub-17-minute time for the first time in her career to earn seventh with a personal best 16:58.65. Camy Kiser followed in 19th place, crossing the line in 17:17.46 and Sienna Miller earned 25th as she stopped the clock in 17:23.66. On the men's side, Ethan Fingerhut competed in his first outdoor 5K, receiving 28th place with his pace of 14:42.50.
