
Pitt Draws Mississippi State in 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge

CHARLOTTE – The Pitt women's basketball team will travel to face Mississippi State in the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge on Thursday, Dec. 4, as announced by the conference television partners at ESPN Thursday afternoon.
This year will mark the third rendition of the event as the two conferences tied (7-7) in 2023, while the SEC won (10-6) in 2024. Of note, Pitt will make its first appearance in the annual event in 2025.

2025-26 Panthers
Pitt is returning four players from a season ago, including redshirt junior guard Mikayla Johnson – who averaged 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest, while finishing second on the team in 3-point field goals with 41.
The revamped Panthers welcomed 10 newcomers, highlighted by a pair of 2025 HoopGurlz ESPNW top 100 recruits in 30th-ranked (five star) Nylah Wilson and 99th-ranked (four star) Theresa Hagans. Pitt also added three highly-touted transfer portal additions in Angel Jones (Coppin State), Fatima Diakhate (Georgia) and Carla Viegas (Florida State).
