
Turn Back the Clock: Selwyn Records First Triple-Double in Program History (2/9/02)

On February 9, 2002, Laine Selwyn posted the first triple-double in Pitt women's basketball history. She led the Panthers to a dominant 77-45 win over St. John's, where she finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals. The Coral Springs, Fla., native also made 8-of-10 free throw attempts in just 32 minutes.

After opening with a 9-6 advantage at the 14:59 mark in the first half, Pitt jumped all over the Red Storm and raced out to a 29-6 run, taking a 38-12 lead with three and half minutes to go before intermission.
The Panthers held St. John's to 16 first half points, gaining a 44-16 halftime lead. The 16 points in a half were a season-low for Pitt's defense.
In the second half, Pitt extended its lead to as many as 37 points, 75-38.
For the game, the Panthers shot 39 percent (25-of-63), while holding St. John's to just 36 percent (17-of-47). Pitt also won the war on the boards, 41-33, while forcing 23 turnovers.
